Our Sundays gatherings are split up into all-church settings and housechurch settings. Giving us the best of both worlds: first, the intimate family-like meet-ups and the broader experience of the fellowship. We believe both types of gatherings contribute to unity corporately and growth individually.
In our housechurches, we meet around a table, in a park, on a beach, in song, or in prayer. We are spread out across the Sarasota/Bradenton area. This is where we practice the “Way of Jesus’’ together at the ground level, serving and loving our city locally.
These are personal and deep studies through Scripture to learn about God’s plan for people and creation. Through these studies, we see how God worked in the past, works in the present and how He will work in the future. We believe through Scripture we encounter the heart and character of the living God. By knowing Him, we better know ourselves and are better equipped to live in His world.
We have a rhythm of gathering on Wednesday evenings each month. The guys take the first Wednesday to have Bible Study together. On the second Wednesday, the women gather to do the same. Then, the guys do something fun together on the third Wednesday. Likewise, the women have a fun event on the fourth Wednesday. This enables the parents to take turns at home with the kids, while the dads and moms get some adult friendship time. We treasure this extended fellowship time together.
Our pursuit as a church is not simply to be a church for ourselves, but to join in the work that God is already doing in Sarasota, Bradenton and beyond. We love our city! We practice a twofold approach of first, keeping an eye on the needs of our local communities and actively partnering in service with like-minded folks. Second, we are desperate to seek and save what God has lost, by sharing the Good News of Jesus that leads to a full life in the present and future. We welcome seekers to join us in letting God’s Word transform every aspect of our lives.
We encourage discipleship of Jesus! As we follow Him closely, we easily recognize areas where we can grow and develop. Small gatherings are safe places to be open and real. It is so refreshing to see faithful steps taken by individuals within our community. We prioritize maturing into Christ.
We believe God designed us to be 100% relational! Sharing life together is one of the best ways to be inspired and to stay strong in our faith. Devotion and depth are trademarks of our life together. We value joyful collaboration that begins now and continues in Heaven.
Through an amazing partnership with one of our local non-profit organizations, Bridge a Life, SRQ Housechurch is able to be one of the churches in our area connected with the CarePortal.
The CarePortal is an online platform that connects churches with the needs of vulnerable children and families. Through the CarePortal, we are able to partner with local child welfare agencies to go out and directly meet the needs of these families in our communities.
