Hero-makers

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” – Acts 4:13

The boldness of Peter and John impressed people. Boldness and courage, not education or pedigree, transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary. These men and women changed the world of the first century through a simple, sustainable relationship with Jesus. This is our ministry philosophy at SRQ House Church.

As we grow, from 3 in 2013, to 7 in 2014, to 15 in 2015, to 24 in the beginning of 2018, we want to be Jesus centered and Jesus dependent in everything we do. He does the heavy lifting in every gathering. Jesus, not talent must drive the church from the inside out.

The litmus test is in asking tough questions. If my leader left, what would happen to my church? If my leader left, who would do what he or she does? If the budget were cut in half, what would happen to my church? A simple and sustainable model is not money dependent or talent dependent. Jesus, our hero, makes heroes of us all as we grow in our faith and mature to serve the common good of His church.
